Co-Author Madelyne Spann, a lifelong avid reader, has spent most of her adult career working in the library system encouraging both young and old the value of reading. In retirement, she continues to purchase and distribute a variety of books for family and friends.
It is that passion for reading that inspired the next book in May Book Series titled May Wants A Library Card. May and her daycare class go on a field trip to the local public library. The library staff has a special day of activities lined up to help the children explore all the tools and resources the library has to offer.
Madelyne has included a few real life former colleagues into the storyline. This tribute story honors their team effort of working at a library, and hopefully inspires both young and old (but especially kids) to visit their local library to get their own library card.

ABOUT AUTHOR MADELYNE SPANN
Devoting most of her professional career to working in the library system, Madelyne Spann LOVES books. After retiring from 30+ years working for the Berkeley County Library System in South Carolina, the Mayor of Goose Creek gave a special proclamation to honor her years of service to the community. Post retirement, she decided it was time to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a published author. Inspired by journal entries Madelyne recorded while observing her first grandchild Maylene, she developed a series of books about an inquisitive little girl named May.There are currently 5 books in the series: May Learns To Pray, May Asks, Why? Why? Why?, May and the Beautiful Little Flowers, May Visits Dr. Lee, and May Wants A Library Card. Madelyne is the mother of 3, and enlisted the help of her eldest son Larry as co-author. She is married to Pastor Samuel E. Spann, and the couple reside in South Carolina.
